STAFF OPPORTUNITIES

We want to grow our team! And we think you could be the answer!

We are looking for people who have a passion and a heart for what is going on here in Japan! God is doing many amazing things in this nation, and we would love for you to join in! Let’s be a part of the story that God’s writing for Japan, together!

Whether it’s in the kitchen, as DTS staff, or leading an English teaching ministry, there are many options in this nation! As a base, we have many practical needs and roles that need filling, so if you have a skill or ability that matches one of those needs we would love to have you! But even the pure desire to serve and an open heart for Japan are also what we are looking for!

There are both long and short term opportunities available for staffing. Please take a look below at the roles that we are trying to fill and let us know if you have any questions!

full staff

To be one of our full time staff members, you are required to have completed a Discipleship Training School (DTS). We are also asking for a minimum 2 year commitment.

Mission builders

Mission builders are those who are interested in coming to serve the base anywhere from one week to three months. You do not need to have done a DTS to be mission builder. One of our biggest needs at the moment is kitchen, hospitality, and maintenance staff for 2024.

Available Roles

DTS

Are you passionate about young people? Do you love discipleship and seeing people fully understand their calling? DTS staff are those who work directly with our DTS students to help mentor them and lead them closer in their relationship with God, as well as help lead the students in their practical missions outreach. We’re looking for people who have done their DTS who are passionate about guiding others into a similar experience!

SBS

We love the Bible and believe it is essential to our walk with the Lord. Our heart is to inspire others to fall in love with the Bible and apply its truth to their life. If you have completed a nine-month SBS and have a desire to take part in establishing a Japanese bilingual SBS, please apply.

KITCHEN

No one can function on an empty stomach! If you love cooking or baking, and helping create community, we could use your help! Along with hospitality, our kitchen crew is vital in helping us grow our community and bringing the family atmosphere that we value. Besides keeping our staff fed, the kitchen crew is also responsible for the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen space.

WORSHIP

We want to make worship and intercession the foundation of everything that we do as a YWAM base, and we need a gifted worship leader to help take us to that place. If your anointing is in music and worship, and your skill is in leading others into encounters with God, we need your help! Our worship team is responsible for our base community times and for the ministry that we do in our worship nights for the community.

MEDIA

This one’s for the creatives and the communicators. If you’re skilled in areas such as graphic design, marketing, photography, or film, we have a spot for you! We’re looking to create a team to help with school promotion, the running of our social media accounts, creative media projects for local churches and organizations, and much more!

HOSPITALITY

Japan is the land of hospitality! Making people feel welcome and comfortable is something that Japanese people do so well, and we try to carry that same spirit here at the base! We’re looking for people who have a heart for making others feel at home and building community at the base for guests, staff, and students. Whether it’s through making beds, writing welcome cards, baking yummy food, keeping things tidy and organized, or welcoming guests, we’re looking for people with a heart to serve others well and make them feel like they belong.

LOCAL

OUTREACH

From English teaching to kid’s ministry to prayer walking to coffee shop evangelism, we feel like Japan is full of endless opportunities! Our vision for the base is for it to be a pillar of the neighborhood. We want to see more base ministries flowing into and supporting our local community, and we’re looking for different ways to do that. If you have things that you are passionate about and feel like God has put on your heart to do, we want to try and make those things a reality here in Japan.
