About YWAM Osaka SBS

The School of Biblical Studies (SBS) at YWAM Takatsuki is a Japanese/English bilingual 10-month immersive course within Youth with a Mission, University of the Nations. It is designed to teach the students how to study the 66 books of the Bible through an inductive approach - to observe what the text says in the correct context, interpret and then make it applicable today. Students will not only be able to read a book and discover the big picture, but also be able to examine the finer details within each paragraph and verse.

In this SBS we will study the Bible chronologically, from Genesis to Revelation, and discover how the biblical books form one connected story. Throughout the SBS, students will live in community with those who have the same passion for unlocking the beautiful mysteries of the Word. And staff are on hand to assist in the growth of the students - their understanding of the Word, how the inductive method is being used to further that understanding, and how that new understanding can be practically applied to their everyday lives.

ワイワム高槻の聖書研究学校（以下SBS）は、ユース・ウィズ・ア・ミッション、ユニバーシティ・オブ・ザ・ネーションズの、日本語と英語からなるバイリンガル10ヶ月集中コースです。聖書66巻を帰納的アプローチで学ぶ方法、つまり、聖書に書かれていることを正しい文脈で観察し、解釈し、そしてそれを今日に適用できるようにすることを目的としています。生徒は、各書を読んで全体像を発見するだけでなく、各段落や節の中の細かい部分を吟味することができるようになります。

このSBSでは、創世記から黙示録まで年代順に聖書を学び、聖書の各書がどのように一つのつながった物語を形成しているかを発見していきます。SBSの10ヶ月間、生徒は御言葉への深い情熱を同じように持った仲間達と共同生活を送ります。そして、御言葉に対する理解、その理解を深めるための帰納法の使い方、その新しい理解を日常生活にどう実践していくか、といった生徒の成長をスタッフはサポートします。

SBS is concerned with the student grasping the content of the Scriptures. We are a content course. The content is covered in the student’s independent study and in class lectures. A normal school week is 60 hours of study and school activities.
